what sets neptune apart from the rest of the other systems, since alot of em are very similar in features and do almost the exact same thing......

one thing i do know about neptune apart from the rest is customer service of course Very Happy Very Happy , but is there anything else that makes neptune stand out from the rest??? is it the development? the features? the code??

anything?

The RTP has more built in features and offers the most expandability out of ANY other OEM EMS solution.

Code is better too.

Ever wonder why the basemap you build runs smooth right from the start? That's the programming.

You see threads with feature requests. Go look on Handata's forum as well. You'll see requests there too. Who is the one that actually listens to their customers and does something about it right there..... not Hondata.

The choice was simple for me.

I probably shouldn't get into a discussion about features.

so by that staement is it safe to assume that the features within neptune set it apart from the rest of the other systems?

When I originally released they did. Now everyone seems to have similar stuff. Smile I'll leave it at that.

Figure out a way to make internal hardware changes to a stock ecu too set it apart from all other systems. Something like the PWM control but even better. Maybe integrating something for use of 8 injectors instead of 4. Which I know there is already a system out there for that. But it cant work as a staged injection system and just switches from one set of injectors too another. Going from lets say 440cc too 1000cc. Not keeping the 440cc running and just adding the 1000cc. Im sure I could figure a way with the Output options for this too work either after a certain boost level or vtec engagement. I also dont know if its possible but making a hardware change that will allow a coil on plug setup. I know i know the stock ecu only has one coil output trigger. Im sure you could integrate hardware that would allow for 1 or 3 additional trigger outputs. Might not be possible.

But just adding features though the software will have everyother system out there upgrading and doing the same. If you start going indepth and making hardware changes thats when you will set yourself apart. Atleast thats the way I feel about it. Im sure if I knew enough about hardware and software I would just say the hell with it and make my own standalone. But thats not my specialty. So ill stick to doing what I do best. The only thing I really want is onboard datalogging. We need to get on craig about that one though.

I have concidered them all. Even full standalones. Which I still may use one day.

Look at the RTP board itself. Many people are not aware but the board will support more than you think. The board currently has connectors for 4 aux inputs. IE: you can datalog more optional sensrs if you wanted, you can monitor 4 EGT probes.... ect.

Bluetooth connectivity. That alone is worth the price. I love not having the million cables while tuning a car. It makes things better and more professional from a tuners aspect.

Onboard datalogging via SD memory cards. Even though this is not active you can see that James is ready to incorperate it with the Autologging features.

Remember this is not James that we are waiting on.... I think everyone knows by now that he does his part faster than any other person out there.

I only helped with the install guide/help section and helping James maintain this lovely forum. Cool

I help wherever I can. That's what I do.

I am one of the Pre-Release users so I have been using the RTP for over a year now.... I don't remember the exact date I signed the NDA contract, but it must have been about a year and a half ago by now.
