F23/F22 Obd2 Dist Base Timing Set

Hi guys, trying to set base timing on a 96 accord with a slightly newer F23a engine swapped in. Still using the F22 dist as I didn’t want to convert to internal coil. Apparently this setup uses an external tdc sensor, and from the factory the obd2 ecu has a preset base ignition timing. I’m aware that the value for syncing ignition timing is adjustable. Using an adjustable timing light, I will find out what the ignition timing is fixed at. I will adjust the timing sync value to that in Neptune and be done with that portion. My questions are:

-I’ve started the tune with a d16z6 map. What does syncing at different than 16.5 do to the timing tables? Nothing? Since this is supposed to just be a sync? Or will I need to adjust entire map to offset the difference between 16.5 and what I’ve set as base?

-Regarding boost tools, is the timing per psi based off of 16.5? The new synced timing? Or values in the map?

I think that’s all I have for now! Thanks guys

You'll notice changing the base timing to match your base timing changes the values in the table to match that as a base.

Boost is based on table values.

Yep. I figured that out yest. Was running at 10 degrees before tdc. Synced it there and added 6 degrees back to the map. All is well. Thanks for the response!
