rd1 screen is black when powered

I recently went out to my drag car and started it up for the first time in 2 weeks screen came on perfectly fine and functioned well today I went to start the car and screen is black. So I pulled it from the dash and hooked it to my laptop and the samething. So I checked the firmware and it was up to date. So after about 10minutes of it being plugged into my laptop the screen came on but the screen had a bunch of black lines going vertical and it will not connect to the computer it will cycle saying connecting then it just stops and only status disconnected

I've had the unit for a few years so i the receipt is long gone. But I figured out the problem the screen has a major short in it. I guess do to so much vibration from the car with the solid steel mounts its losing connection from the board to the screen. After getting it to work I tried to install in the car again and screen is black again and it has 12 volts to the barrel connector

The board is soldered to the screen. It can't lose connection. More likely you're over-tightening, have the headers touching metal, or something else that's causing the short if it works when not installed.
