New to RD1 Questions

bkmc24 Wed Mar 25, 2015 2:06 am

Hello all! I will be getting my RD1 Thursday and have quite a few questions regarding it.

My ecu is a Phearable ECU, so it will be a direct ECU connections. My questions are:

-As-is, what types of reading will I NOT be able to get from a direct connection?
-Will I have to add in extra's to get said readings? IE Oil Pressure, Vacuum, etc.
-My entire plan is to use the RD1, and only the RD1 for my "gauge cluster," as my hatch is gutted except a steering wheel and two seats. Will this be enough or should I invest in a tunerview?

And any other noob advice is welcome. I am quite excited!

I also have a wideband, but would like to only run the RD1. Is this doable?

You're limited to what your management system can output for data. You've not mentioned that.

I emailed Phearable and asked them what software was used. My assumption is crome, but I'm not positive. Will reply back with solid info. Thanks!

No problem. If it's Crome it needs to have the datalogger 2 script installed.

It needs it to work entirely?
Assuming it is crome, what are my limitations?

Right. Stated on the website it only works with that script currently.

Assuming it's Crome you honestly have no expandability. You get what's in the list of items to log which you can see in the free TunerView software on the site. Crome is the bare minimum management option that's available. If you want to actually do things get something better.

Understood. Unfortunately I was unaware of the RD1 and RTP when I ordered the ECU, so I got whatever worked for the time being. Guess I'll be buy an RTP soon enough! Thanks for the help and quickness!
