Correct wiring?

Norlael Mon Sep 22, 2014 8:18 pm

ok this pinout ordeal is driving me crazy, trying to hook my BT and RD1 up to my D2 board

what I have for the colors on the wires dont match anything on the websites to begin. some places are talking about orange and red and purple when i have none of these colors.

so forgoing the colors I would just like to know the pinouts on the c2 header on the daisy chain output on RD1 and the RTP input on the RD1.

ok to start I have the EHBT module in my hand and I have at the chip with the arrow side facing up:

GND TXO RXD VCC ---- EHBT arrow up
blk red org brn
| | | |
| | | |
blk brn red org ----- RD1 side in daisy chain arrow up on 4pin connector

and for the D2 into the RTP side of RD1
TXO RXI GND 5VI ---- RD1 side with arrows facing up
red org blk pnk
| | | |
| | | |
org pnk red blk
GND 5VO RXI TXO --- D2 side on cn2 latch with arrows up

common sense to me says that the GND should be hooked together and 5VI goes into 5VO right? would that then mean RXI is hooked into the other RXI or do they go into TXO

sorry to keep coming back to this subject but I would like to make sure im doing this right before I destroy $1200 worth of hardware.

The colors are actually irrelevant to the example. More importantly it tells you the order in which they need to be on one side vs the other. I'm working on creating a new help site.

Your BT module needs to be setup for a D1 if you're going to use the Daisy port of the RD1. RXI TXO GND 5VO, where a straight cable from the RTP port of the RD1 to the Daisy port would be able to communicate, since that's what it's for.

The pinout you need from RD1 -> D2 is on the help site.

http://support.moates.net/pinouts-for-4-pin-interconnect-cable-for-various-products/ is this the site you are talking about? and do I connect the same thing to each one (just making sure) ie RX0 to RXI and TXO to TXI etc?

RX is in, TX is out. TXO on one device goes to RXI on the other.

ok I got everything figured out except for the bluetooth part. I just need the pinout for the daisy port on the RD1 when looking at it from the top. looking directly at the clip from the top I have TXO RXI GND 5VO. is this correct?

Also I was trying to get the fuel level converter hooked up. In some other posts on this forum you said something about putting sensor calibrations into RTP in addition to the RD1. the only sensor calibration for EGR lift I could find RTP was for fuel corrections. what am I missing here?

It's the same as a D1.

Preferences>Sensors.

ok cool got the fuel level gauge working now, still having problems with the BT module though... Ive had it wired that way since I first did it. Maybe im not doing something right with the TV app? im using the android version on a galaxy tab s3. maybe there is a setting or something in there that im not doing correctly?
