Hi i just recently brought a used neptune ecu.
i want to put a basemap setting on it but when i look at the ecu box itself
there is no usb plug which i can use to plug my laptop to.
is there anything else needed to be able to start self tuning with these ecus?
can anyone give help me out with distinguishing what type of ecu i have?

if it helps i drive a EG VTI, B16A2.

Open the top cover of the ECU. If you've purchased a NepTune ECU that was tuned on the chip based system thinking it was an RTP system you either didn't ask the seller the right questions or he was misleading in his information. The chip based system is not end user tunable, only the RTP system is. If you did indeed buy an ECU with an RTP, it may be sitting inside of the ECU. The USB is on the board. Some people choose not to put the hole in the side of the ECU.

when you say its not user tunable. does that mean its not tunable at all?
when i get home i'll have a look inside.

will i dmg the ecu if i was to remove the cover.
i noticed that there was a sticker alongside of the ecu box saying void warranty if removed.

not really related but. is it possible to fit the tunerview even if i dont have a usb port to plug it to?

If it's just a chip, it's only tunable by a dealer and unfortunately those licenses are non-transferable, since it may not be the original. You'll have to find a dealer to tune you again.

The top cover is separate from the ECU. Chances are if you don't have a USB port on the outside and you have a sticker sealing the cover that you don't have an RTP inside.

If you do happen to have an RTP you'll find one of the following inside.

OR

Yes, the TunerView can work directly with the ECU, but if it was tuned for a different setup you probably shouldn't run the ECU on your setup.

I think the unit you bought will be one of ours, which in that case you should speak to us Smile

very easy to tell, the warrany void sticker is something we do, and if it has our company name on it, then its ours
