Neptune Bugs - Post Here

Coupe-r Thu Oct 04, 2018 9:37 am

This post is for users to raise bugs with the software (not user error or you don't know how to use the software correctly)
REAL ISSUES ONLY

I'll start (I suggest others follow the format below)

Issue 1: Resizing maps by adding a new column does not behave correctly

Steps to replicate
1: Open a map and right click in a fuel zone 'Insert Column After'

Result: Does not Insert a NEW column, it removes the last column and repurposes it to where you insert.
I.E you have a 10 column map, you add a column after column 3.
This creates a new map column 4, but REMOVES your column 10. So your map is still 10 columns wide.

Expected result: If you are adding a NEW COLUMN to a map with 10 columns, you should now have 11 columns.

Issue 2: Expanding Columns first THEN inserting column after on low cam fuel map adds 24 RPM rows and generally screws up the map

Steps to replicate
1: Open a new map 10x20, click 'expand columns' icon
2: Right click into a fuel zone and insert column after

Result: This actually leaves you with a NEW column in low cam fuel, but the RPM zones in fuel high, and both ignition maps get expanded to 24 ?

Expected result: RPM zones should remain unchanged, just a column added

I stopped testing here as this feature is seriously broken still.

As I mentioned in the other thread on the topic of inserting a column, the bug with that was addressed already and will be put out as an update.

If you're inserting a column it simply inserts a column. It does not resize your viewing area, and it shouldn't. The maps are always 24x24, you have the ability to extend your VIEWABLE area with the arrows and quick keys to expand or contract said VIEWABLE area.

I don't think I've ever seen this mentioned before, but I was able to replicate and fix it. Thank you.

Ah sorry I took this as it was done and released already (as Dealers we download new software every month so assumed that was a new version)

My mistake.

Ok viewable area aside, inserting a 'column after' resizes your viewable area for the RPM zones...

Easier you try it than me explain (unless this is all fixed in the next release in that case, i shall wait)

Cheers Smile

Yes, insert was fixed and the dealer update would have it already.

I'll check on viewable rows being changed. That's just viewable area, though.

Perfect, yeh you will notice is still doing some funky things.

Try start with standard map size of 10x20 then have a play with 'insert column after' (it changes the viewable rows)

Also 'Viewable' area is USABLE area depending on your scaling. If you have a map 10 columns wide (or 10 cols viewable) your col9=987mbar and your last column10=0.5psi.

You insert a column after col4 which actually pushes your last col10=0.5psi off the 'viewable' area. Your last viewable column 10 now reads 987mbar

However this also means your last USEABLE column by the ecu is also 987mbar. (no longer 0.5psi)

The ecu doesn't go using a hidden cols 11-24 correct?

Viewable is what I mentioned. The ECU uses the entire 24x24 at all times. Expand fully, setup a 4 bar map for whatever range you want, then contract. Expand again, still there.

Interesting, so the ecu will use ANY column it needs to read from the MAP sensor (regardless if its viewable or not)

Ok so that just leaves

Issue 2
