AKindinos Wed Aug 01, 2018 10:29 am

Hello,

I decided to switch my plx device form analog to direct serial. My issue is that i get only a 0.5 reading on the direct serial reading and all the cells inside neptune.
device is on COM4 with 19600 baud 8n1 and on direct serial is selected in the settings on neptune

If it was outputting the data you should see something if it's all setup correctly.

If they've changed the protocols or something unfortunately they no longer have that information published on their website so I can't even check.

When I'm not logging the serial gauge is blank when I log I only get 0.5.

This is the latest info I could find about the protocols they use:

If your info is the same I will try to ask them via mail.

I asked PLX for there serial protocol the reply I got from them was:

There have been no adjustments to the iMFD protocol in over 3-4 years. The only thing we did was add 2 additional address for readouts from our Gen 4 SM-AFR that is not related to the actual AFR sensor readings.

See the link below and click on the Extended Information tab under the images.

That is interesting... it should work as it did previously then if it's still in the same data position.

Is there a way to log the data stream and send it back to you for investigation?

many of the TTL to serial/USB adapters SUCK. Can you rule out any problems by logging the signal into another application... Does PLX provide software for you to troubleshoot?

I haven't seen any software and I tried to check the readings on Terminal but I was only getting scrambled data! maybe it needs some encoding to be done I don't know
