Ect deleting?

B17hatch Mon Apr 18, 2016 1:17 am

So I'm close to getting my civic running, Jdm gsr with bolt ons. My question is, the guy I got the car from ran a separate water temp gauge because of the s2k cluster. Is there a way to bypass or disable the ect in the tune? So my vtec will worl? And would you recommend doing so? The wires I'm pretty sure are still in the harness, I'll just have to trace them out. Tia

ECT can't be disabled. You can activate VTEC anyway by disabling the VTEC error check.

Ok cool. So disabling the vtec error check, will make vtec work without the temp reading?

It will make VTEC work regardless of what errors are there. That disables the check for errors.

There are 2 coolant temp sensors. One for the gauge, and one for the ECU. If you're saying that the one for the gauge is disconnected, it'll make no difference anyway, due to the sensor feeding the ECU.
